Lucy Jackson (Headteacher)

Background

I have been part of the Hampton Lucy family since 2003. I joined the school as the year three and year four teacher, after 5 years teaching in Worcestershire. I have since had the opportunity to teach throughout the school in every class. This valuable experience has given me the understanding of the development of the whole child from building the foundations in Nursery and Reception to preparing our year six children for the next stage of their life.   

Personal Comments

I have always wanted to be part of leadership, with my ultimate goal to become a Headteacher. The support and guidance I have received in my time at Hampton Lucy has seen my role develop from KS lead, to Assistant Headteacher and now Headteacher. As a school leader, I wish to secure the school for the future, building on our excellent practise and Christian values and ethos. 

Keith Groen (Co-Opted, Vice Chair Governor)

Background

Keith is a Mechanical Engineer and has worked for Jaguar Land Rover for nearly 20 years, having graduated from Bath University in 2002.

Outside work, Keith volunteered as a Civilian Instructor in the RAF Air Cadets for over 10 years. In the classroom he taught children in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics based subjects. Outside the classroom, Keith is a qualified Expedition Leader and Duke of Edinburgh Gold Assessor, helping children aged 13-17 to grow in confidence and develop an adventurous, caring and creative spirit; giving them a life-changing opportunity to be the very best they can be.

Keith has one daughter now at Hampton Lucy School and has been a Governor since January 2016, initially as a Parent Governor and now as a Co-opted Governor and Deputy Chair. Keith is our Safeguarding Governor.

Personal Comments

Hampton Lucy CofE Primary School and Nursery excels at creating an environment where children are valued and are able to develop their own self-esteem and confidence. I applied to become a governor because l want to support the school in their efforts to raise expectations, and help our children to achieve their potential (whatever this may be) both academically and creatively.

Sue Lampitt (Church Foundation Governor) 

Background

Sue has a longstanding association with the school. Now retired, Sue enjoyed a career as a local secondary school teacher combined with farming. Sue is a member of the Performance & Standards Committee. 

Personal Comments 

Hampton Lucy CofE Primary School and Nursery is a very special place for me. Three generations of my family have attended this school and I have volunteered here on and off for forty years. I have a particular interest in Early Years and Primary education because these are the foundation of all that follows. Love of learning developed in the early years will last a lifetime.

Anne Richardson (Church Foundation Governor)

Background

Anne taught National Curriculum music for over 40 years, initially in the secondary sector and subsequently in over 30 primaries for the Warwickshire County Music Service, eventually specialising in Early Years and Nursery music. She was heavily involved in helping schools and Early Years settings improve their music provision, and ran workshops, courses and training for teachers.

Anne retired in March 2020 at first lockdown, having taught at Hampton Lucy for 31 years. Anne has helped to plan and deliver the monthly Family Service at St Peter’s Hampton Lucy, working with children in school to prepare activities, readings, prayers and displays, and hopes this will continue when circumstances allow.

Personal comments

Having started teaching at Hampton Lucy I knew that it would be the right place for my children. I saw a school where all children were valued and nurtured, and I am delighted that this is still the case. As a Foundation Governor I look forward to fostering and developing the strong links between school, church and community.

I research family history, practise tai chi and under normal circumstances sing in at least 3 choirs. In retirement I hope to travel regularly, visiting areas in the UK where my ancestors lived and undertaking further research in record offices and archives.

Angela Clarke (Co-opted Governor)

Background 

I have worked for Wolseley for over 20 years in a variety of roles, latterly with responsibility for the profitability of the daily business transactions where I managed a team which ensured the end-to-end processes that delivered this. 

Personal Comments

I became governor because I wanted to ensure continuity of my daughter’s primary school education at Hampton Lucy. 

I have a keen eye for detail and will use my knowledge and expertise to support all other stakeholders involved in the delivery of a quality education at Hampton Lucy Primary School and Nursery.

Lisa Pinkerton (Parent Governor)

Background

Lisa is a Deputy Head Teacher of a large primary school in Stratford upon Avon and has worked in education for nearly 25 years, having graduated from Cardiff University with a degree in education and a post graduate teaching certificate from Cheltenham College of Higher Education. Since then, she has achieved a Masters in Early Years from Birmingham University and the National Senco Award from Northampton University.

Lisa has been an active advocate for developing the quality of early years’ education for children in Warwickshire, having been an EYFS Mentor and Moderator for the Local Authority. She is passionate about high quality teacher training and is currently involved in planning and delivering the national programme for Early Career Teachers for a large local academy trust.

Outside the classroom, Lisa is passionate about the theatre, literature, travelling, wildlife and the ocean (as a qualified scuba diving instructor) – passions she hopes to share with her daughter who is currently in year 6 at Hampton Lucy School. Lisa  joined the governing body as a Parent Governor.

Personal Comments

Hampton Lucy School provides a warm and supportive environment for the children in its care and manages to maintain a ‘family’ feel where each individual’s strengths and talents are valued. I applied for the role of governor as I hope to support the staff in further developing their environment and curriculum to enable the pupils to be the very best they can be both socially and academically.

Stuart Martin (Chair & Co-opted Governor)

Background

Stuart is a Fitness, Health and Well-Being professional since 1992, specialising in encouraging people to lead healthier lives by being more active. Working at a strategic leadership level, Stuart is the Managing Director of one the leading UK Charities Active Nation that has 250,000 registered Supporters, which includes teaching 10,000 children to learn to swim.

Personal Comments

My youngest child still attends Hampton Lucy Primary School, and I’m delighted to be supporting the School as a Governor, because I have a passion for encouraging children to be more active through sport and exercise, where it is evidenced that students who are physically active tend to have better grades, school attendance, cognitive performance and classroom behaviours.

Ali Steer (Teacher Governor)

Background

Ali has worked in a variety of Primary schools since graduating with a degree in maths and physics and a Post Graduate Certificate of Education. During her career, Ali has taught across the whole primary range and is currently teaching year 5 and 6 at Hampton Lucy School. Ali is Assistant Headteacher , maths , writing and RSE lead.

Personal Comment

I have a passion for teaching all subjects, but my first love was maths and I enjoy passing on my enthusiasm for the subject to the children. I love teaching at Hampton Lucy School, where we allow the children to develop a love of learning in a loving and supportive environment.
