OFSTED Report
Ofsted recognised a significant number of strengths during their visit in Nov 2023 and we are proud that they recognised that our ‘school is aspirational for all pupils’.
About pupils Ofsted said:
- ‘Pupils love their school.’
- Pupils are, ‘Happy and feel safe because they know adults care for them and sort out any worries.’
- ‘Pupils are welcoming and well mannered, they play happily on the playground and older pupils look after their younger buddies.’
- ‘Pupils enjoy a wide range of opportunities to become good citizens and engage with the wider world.’
- ‘Pupils with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) feel included in school life.’
About the school Ofsted said:
- ‘The school is aspirational for all pupils.’
- ‘The school supports pupils with complex needs well.’
- ‘The school has recently adopted a new scheme for reading, this having a positive impact on how well the pupils are learning to read.’
- ‘The school has prioritised reading…’
- ‘The provision of the pupil’s personal development is a strength of the school.’
About the teaching Ofsted said:
- ‘Staff provide well-chosen activity choices that engage pupils in all subjects.’
- ‘Teacher have secure subject knowledge.’
- ‘In mathematics, teachers deliver structured lessons that contain features… to secure learning.’
About leadership Ofsted said:
- ‘Leaders have worked hard since the last inspection to develop and improve the curriculum’.
- ‘Governors are committed and involved with the school’.
- ‘Governors and leaders are mindful of the workload and wellbeing of staff.’
Ofsted also confirmed areas which the school had already identified as its priorities for improvement:
- Embed the recently introduced curriculum
- Ensure all staff receive training to be able to adapt the curriculum to meet all pupils needs
- Consistent implementation of the school’s behaviour policy
- Ensure governors training enables them to focus on areas for maximum impact
